I was just about to close up all my applications and shut down my PC just because of a simple reason that i could not make modifications to one of the picture when one good friend of mine thanks a ton him suggested the new beta version of picasa. Wow!! Now this is what i call a perfect photo manager.

It gives me almost all the options I needed to optimize the photograph. Unfortunately its only available for windows right now while the MAC version seems to be on its way. The most signigicant feature as suggested in most of the google blogs too is the "sync to web" switch which allows to synchronise the new snaps or any editing to the existing one to be synchronised with the picasa albums right away with one mouse click.

Another fabulous addition was managing the text over any picture. I could add text, align it the way i wanted and guess what? could sync it with the background. Yes!!! you heard me right apart from chosing a colour for your text picasa allows the user to make the text compatible with the background. Now that's one feature i must say i loved to the core and is one fundamental reason for invoking me to write this blog post. The basic features though of editing and cropping remain the same as earlier picasa versions.

As every coin has the second side there are few shortcomings to go along with all these striking features. You can't just increase or decrease the width or height of the picture independently. The adjustment to the width or height goes hand in hand with the other. It offers us a crop but then sometimes we require more than that.

With very little to share on the bad part of it overall its one awesome photo manager tool which is fun to work with and in case you wanna own it, its available totally free here

. Go, download and dont forget to share the experience with me.

    Hi Rahul,

Very insightful post. Definitely the new Picasa, is something worth checking out.

Rahul, I thought you should let you know about a new face-recognition concept that has been introduced by a powerful family social network called 'MyHeritage'. It is a very unique feature, and plugs in with the existing family trees of the users and is available in several languages.

Rahul, just imagine that in your family tree all the members are tagged with their pictures

Perhaps, worth checking out Rahul !
